Our Policy
- Parents and Guardians should be advised that Acrodance is a hands-on discipline.
- The Schools insurance policy covers children for the duration of their class only.
- It is the responsibility of Parents/Guardians to collect their children promptly at the end of class. Please remember that classes are ongoing all day and the teacher has a duty to the next class to begin on time.
- Uniforms are compulsory after 2 weeks of classes.
- Parents / Guardians / Children should inform the teacher of any illness or injury before class begins.
- Children should arrive to class, in uniform and on time. Hair should be tied up neatly and away from the face.
- All children, particularly the younger ones, should be brought to the toilet before coming to class.
- Pupils and siblings must be supervised by parents/guardians in the changing room at all times.
- Registration forms should be filled out before commencing the first class.
- All fees are due at the start of each term.
- A copy of the School's Child Protection Policy is available on request.
Uniform and Hair
Lessons: Correct uniforms must always be worn. Students that are not dressed appropriately ( eg Skirt or dress) will not be allowed to take a class. If you have any questions regarding the Uniform please contact us.
Hair : Hair needs to be neat and out of the face. we suggest plait or French plaits for acro and bobbles too close to the head can be uncomfortable doing skills. ( No buns or hair down)
Uniform: Our uniform will become mandatory from the start of Term 1 for safety reasons for both students and teachers.
For new students uniform will be mandatory after week 2.
Fees
Students must be registered and fees paid prior to their first class. Registration is accepted throughout the year space permitting. Term 1 fees must be paid to reserve your space in class. Registration is based on a first-come, first-serve basis.
All fees must be paid in full before or on the first day of the term.
Anti-Bullying Policy
Hamilton Acro And Dance recognize that every child has the right to enjoy a life free from bullying; therefore we will always take seriously all allegations of bullying and are committed to deal with it effectively when it does happen. We will always endeavour to work with students and parents to prevent it from happening.
Behavior Policy
During sessions, students are expected to behave in a polite manner. They are expected to listen and we discourage unnecessary talking. If a student is causing disruption to others’ learning they may be asked to leave the lesson.
Any unacceptable behavior from students and/or parents/carers will not be tolerated. Unacceptable behavior by pupils may result in exclusion from current and/or further activities. Parents or family members may be banned from premises, events and/or performances.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
We offer a pay as you go trial class, So you can see if this is a class your child will enjoy. After this however we work with 6 week terms, no refunds will be given and a 100% cancellation fee applies. Fees can be carried forward to the next term if you so wish. Fees are non-transferable.
Refunds are given only in the event of cancellation due to insufficient registration. Refunds are effective from the day classes are cancelled. There is no refund for classes missed by a student throughout the Term.
Attendance Policy
It is a fundamental necessity for the teacher/choreographer to have the time to work with the students; therefore all pupils are expected to meet a 80% minimum attendance. Parents are asked to contact us when their child is absent giving an indication of the reason.
Lateness Policy
Students are expected to arrive on time. Dance is a physical activity that requires the body to be warmed up in order to execute movement safely. Late students miss the proper warm-up and therefore may sustain an injury. Students who arrive more than 10 minutes late may be asked to observe the class for reasons of health and safety.
Photography Policy
Photographic consent and release is obtained at time of registration.
By giving photographic consent students/parents agree to Hamilton Acro And Dance using images and/or videos of students on The Hamilton Acro And Dance website or for social media and advertising purposes.
Students/parents are not permitted to video or photograph students other than their own or staff at any time, unless given permission by the staff or individuals involved.
Photos of other children should not be posted on social media platforms without the permission of the parent/guardian.
Parents or guardians who do not wish for images of their child to be published should contact us directly, which will be treated in strict confidence.
Waiver
Acro Dance Physical Sport and all students participating in classes must have a signed waiver before starting first class. These will be given out the first day of Class.
Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy -
Hamilton Acro and Dance is fully committed to safeguarding the welfare of all children in its care. It recognises the responsibility to promote safe practice and to protect children from harm, abuse and exploitation. For the purposes of this policy and associated procedures a child is recognised as someone under the age of 18 years.
Staff and volunteers will work together to embrace difference and diversity and respect the rights of children and young people.
This document outlines Hamilton Acro and Dance commitment to protecting children.
These guidelines are based on the following principles:
• The welfare of children is the primary concern.
• All children, whatever their age, culture, disability, gender, language, racial origin, socio-economic status, religious belief and/or sexual identity have the right to protection from all forms of harm and abuse.
• Child protection is everyone's responsibility.
• Children have the right to express views on all matters which affect them, should
they wish to do so.
• Organisations shall work in partnership together with children and parents/carers to promote the welfare, health and development of children.
Hamilton Acro and Dance will:
• Promote the health and welfare of children by providing opportunities for them to
take part in Acro and Dance safely.
• Respect and promote the rights, wishes and feelings of children.
• Promote and implement appropriate procedures to safeguard the well-being of children and protect them from abuse.
• Recruit, train, support and supervise its staff, members and volunteers to adopt best practice to safeguard and protect children from abuse and to reduce risk to themselves.
• Require staff, members and volunteers to adopt and abide by this Child Protection Policy and these procedures.
• Respond to any allegations of misconduct or abuse of children in line with this Policy and these procedures as well as implementing, where appropriate, the relevant disciplinary and appeals procedures.
• Observe guidelines issued by local Child Protection Committees for the protection of children.
• Regularly monitor and evaluate the implementation of this Policy and these procedures.
Review
This Policy and these Procedures will be regularly reviewed:
• In accordance with changes in legislation and guidance on the protection of
children or following any changes within Hamilton Acro and Dance.
• Following any issues or concerns raised about the protection of children
within Hamilton Acro and Dance.
• In all other circumstances, at least every three years.
